Converted town houses, blocks of flats and larger buildings around the Docks and the city centre. Anything above three storeys goes on scaffold or a MEWP, priced separately on the quote. For shared buildings, before-and-after camera footage is available on request for the managing agent or freeholder.
The terraced streets take the most planning. Many rear gutters can only be reached along a narrow back lane, through a side passage, or through the house itself, and there isn't always room to stand a ladder in a small yard. Tell us on the form how the back of the house is reached. It changes the method, and it saves a wasted trip.
Shared downpipes need a mention too. If your gutter drains into a downpipe you share with next door, a blockage lower down backs water up into both gutters. We rod-test every downpipe from the top as standard; if the blockage turns out to be in the underground drain rather than the pipe, we'll tell you, because that's a drainage job rather than a gutter job.
